Frontline Cat Spot On
Frontline Cat Spot On

Frontline spot on treatment guide

Frontline Spot On is used in the treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas, ticks in cats, and as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis in cats. The product controls infestations with Felicola subrostratus biting lice on cats. FRONTLINE Spot On Cat can be used in kittens from 8 weeks of age and weighing at least 1kg.

Frontline Spot on Description

Spot on solution containing 10% w/v fipronil. Each pipette contains 0.5 ml (50 mg fipronil).

Route of administration

By topical application to the skin.

Dosage

1 pipette of 0.5 ml per cat (approximately 7.5 - 15 mg/kg).

Method of administration

Hold upright. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are within the main body of the pipette. Break back the snap-off top of the spot-on pipette along the scored line. Part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze gently to empty its contents onto the skin, preferably at two spots, one at the base of the skull and a second 2-3 cms further back.

Care should be taken to avoid excessive wetting of the hair with the product since this will cause a sticky appearance of hairs at the treatment spot. However, should this occur, it will disappear within 24 hours post application.

In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
It is important to apply the dose to an area where the animal cannot lick off and to make sure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. If licking does occur, a brief period of hypersalivation may be observed, due mainly to the nature of the carrier. Ensure that treated animals do not groom each other after treatment until dry.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

For external use only.
Do not use in rabbits, as adverse reactions and even death could occur.
Flammable.

Great Product!
Janice | 06/07/2010 |

My cat plays with the cat next door and i didnt know that theirs has a lot of fleas. I asked them about it and they told me to buy a treatment product that their vet recommended. I figured that since their cat has alot of fleas feasting on the poor thing, the product that she recommended is not effective at all. I looked at treatments online and came across frontline spot on. Since their delivery is free, i decided to buy 2 and give it a try. So far so good, i can see my cat is more comfortable now and the fleas are totally gone. Il just have to keep him from playing with their cat until theirs is treated. I think il give them the extra pipette.

Definitely the best you can buy!

I'm in whole-hearted agreement with the other comment, I've used Frontline for a year now and no other flea treatment I tried before switching to it has even come close to being as effective, most times they weren't effective at all. After struggling to find a solution, I tried Frontline and two days later, no more fleas at all and they did not return. For cat owners looking for a fast-acting and long lasting treatment, definitely go for Frontline, you will not be disappointed.

Frontline is by far the best flea treatment I have tried
Andyc | 18/03/2010 |

I have used Fronline Spot On for about 4 years and I think it's the best Flea treatment available. I have four cats and treat them every couple of months, we never have any problems with fleas or ticks on our cats. I have converted many of my friends to using Frontline as well and they all swear by it, I would not use anything else.
