"Christmas with Tucker"

A new book for pet lovers has been released this month, just in time for the holidays. “Christmas with Tucker” by Gregory Kincaid is a prequel to his previous book, “A Dog Named Christmas.”

“A Dog Named Christmas” actually started out as a short story Kincaid wrote for his children on Christmas day back in 1999. His children loved it but hated the ending. He revised it, and “A Dog Named Christmas” was published by Random House in 2008. Along with being ranked on the New York Times’ Extended Best Seller’s list, it was also made into a popular Hallmark Hall of Fame movie in 2009.

The story is about a developmentally challenged boy named Todd who hears that his local animal shelter wants to foster out all their dogs for the Christmas holiday. He convinces his parents to let them take a dog, which they name Christmas. But Todd can’t get the rest of the dogs that are still in the shelter out of his mind. He persuades many others to participate, re-igniting the Christmas spirit in his entire community.

Kincaid’s latest book, “Christmas with Tucker”, is the tale of a young boy named George who recently has had to deal with some tough family tragedies. During the holiday season he finds a new best friend in an Irish Setter named Tucker that is given to him by an alcoholic neighbor. Together with Tucker, George finds the strength to move on with his life.

Kincaid has lived in Kansas for most of his life. He lives on a 20 acre farm along with his wife, Michale Ann. Together they have five children, two dogs, two cats and three horses. Not only an best-selling author, Kincaid also works as an attorney in mediation law. He is also a strong advocate for animal shelters and children’s literacy programs. Kincaid dreams that every Christmas Eve animal shelters would be empty so the animals could enjoy the holidays with a family. He hopes the idea of bringing a dog home for Christmas will expand fostering programs around the world.

Don’t forget your own pets this holiday season! Make sure you have some special dog supplies under the tree for your faithful companion. The Pedigree Christmas Stocking is a great choice if you’re short on time. The Pedigree Christmas Stocking contains several types of treats and a Santa dog toy. Order your dog supplies soon so you have them in time for the holidays!
