From 8-14 November London will once again be going to the dogs – it’s the second annual London Dog Week! This event encourages dog owners to have fun with their pets throughout the city. The celebration culminates at Discover Dogs, the biggest London dog show organisied by the Kennel Club. There are many local organizations from pet shops to restaurants that are open for dogs for the week. You can search for dog-friendly venues on the Open for Dogs website: www.kcdogfriendly.co.uk. During the week there will be many different dog-oriented events taking place. For the Love of Dog, a spa and boutique for dogs located on Lower Richmond Road in Putney is organising a doggie fashion show. The event will feature haute couture collars and coats for your canine companion. Primrose Hill Pets on Regents Park Road will be offering giveaways for all kids and customers, as well as treats and food samples for four-legged visitors. Then on 13 – 14 November at Earls Court 1 Discover Dogs kicks off. The show runs both days from 10.00 to 17.00. Children under 12 are free, adults are £10 and seniors are only £7. The event will feature over 200 breeds of dogs that attendees can meet and watch in action. Discover Dogs will also feature vendors showcasing the latest pet products plus entertaining agility competitions. There will also be several free seminars on topics relating to dog ownership, from adopting a new puppy to housebreaking, training tips, doggie massage and recognising common illnesses. On Saturday in the main ring, Discover Dogs will also bring you the exciting finale of the Scruffts Crossbreed Dog of the Year Competition. The only drawback about Discover Dogs is that your dog will not be allowed in for this event. But hopefully they’ll be so tired out from other London Dog Week events that they will be content to stay home and relax for a few hours while you enjoy the show! Discover Dogs is generously sponsored by Royal Canin dog food. Our most popular Royal Canin dog food product is Royal Canin Mini Junior 33 dog food. This kibble is formulated for small dog breeds that are between two and ten months of age. Royal Canin Mini Junior 33 dog food kibble is made in a special small size and texture that small dogs are easily able to chew and digest, and has a great taste even finicky eaters will crave.
