Hills prescription diet d/d Duck and Rice is for the nutritional management of dogs with food allergy and intolerance. Food allergy and intolerance may result in numerous skin and stomach problems that can cause discomfort and pain in your dog. Also known as adverse reactions to food, this condition is usually an abnormal response to a protein found in the food.
Hills diet d/d comes with new protein sources to help manage adverse reactions to food. Allergic reactions to beef, dairy products and wheat are reported more frequently.
Hills canine diet d/d foods do not contain any of these.
Indications
- Food allergy or food intolerance (with dermatological or gastrointestinal signs).
- Use as an Elimination Diet.
- Pancreatitis, without hyperlipidaemia (use Canine d/d dry).
Not recommended for
- Cats.
- Puppies.
- Pregnant or lactating bitches.
Additional information
- Five novel protein formulas combine a single animal protein source (lamb, whitefish, egg, duck or salmon) with rice.
- For increased palatability, dry formulas are coated with hydrolysed chicken.This hydrolysate has an average molecular weight <6,000 daltons and no intact protein molecules to avoid an allergic reaction.
- May benefit dogs with chronic otitis externa, interdigital pruritus and perianal pruritus, which can be signs of an adverse food reaction.
- In acute pancreatitis, feed Canine d/d dry only after the initial stage during which all food and liquid by mouth are withheld.
